AI MAX builds AI systems, so we hold our own use of AI to a strict standard: you always know when you are talking to AI, people are accountable for content, and decisions with legal effect are made by a person. This statement explains how we apply Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (the AI Act).
1. Legal framework
- Art. 50(1) — people must be informed that they are interacting with an AI system; applies from 2 August 2026.
- Art. 50(2) and (4) — synthetic content must be marked in a machine-readable way, and deepfakes and text published to inform the public on matters of public interest must be disclosed as AI-generated, unless the content has undergone human editorial review and someone holds editorial responsibility
- Art. 4 — AI literacy of staff and contractors working with AI systems
- the GDPR for any personal data processed by AI systems
2. The AI assistant on this site
- It is labelled as AI before and during the conversation (“You are talking to an AI system”).
- It answers only from this site's public content and cites its sources; if the answer is not in the sources, it refers you to people.
- It runs on an open-weight language model on EU infrastructure operated by our technology partner. Your questions are not sent to external AI providers and are not used to train or fine-tune models.
- It quotes no prices, makes no binding statements and makes no decisions about you.
- Conversations are kept for 30 days for quality control, without IP addresses and with e-mail addresses and phone numbers masked automatically — see the Privacy policy.
3. AI-assisted content
The texts on this site are written and approved by people; we use AI to assist with writing, translation and checking. AI MAX takes editorial responsibility for everything it publishes.
- Articles and posts produced largely with AI assistance carry the label “Created with AI assistance · edited by a human”, even though editorial review means the Regulation does not require it.
- Images, video and audio generated or materially altered by AI are labelled visibly and, where the tool allows, with machine-readable provenance markers.
- We do not publish deepfakes of real people. The founders' photos are real photographs.
4. AI systems we deliver to clients
- For every project we assess and document the risk level under the Regulation (prohibited practices, high-risk systems, transparency obligations).
- Human oversight is built into the architecture: the system proposes, a person decides — especially in administrative procedures and the public sector.
- Client data stays in the EU and is not used to train models for other clients without an explicit written agreement.
- End users of client systems are always told they are interacting with AI; synthetic content is marked.
- For high-risk systems we meet the requirements on documentation, logging, accuracy and human oversight within the deadlines set by the Regulation.
5. AI literacy
Everyone at AI MAX and our partners who works with AI systems is trained on their capabilities, limits and risks and on the rules in this statement (Art. 4 of the Regulation).
6. Reporting a problem
If an AI MAX system gave you an inaccurate, offensive or harmful answer, or you think content is not labelled correctly, tell us at info@aimax.hr (subject “AI”). Every report is reviewed by a person.
